Select Board · Meeting of March 10, 2026
Buckland Select Board approved a sustainable purchasing policy and ten new Eversource utility poles, while warning a $288 million Franklin County Technical School building bond could cost the town $275,000 a year. Finance Committee representative Larry Lankford called the nearly finished fiscal 2027 budget "very, very tight," citing a Mohawk Trail Regional School District assessment up more than $300,000, a 9.9 percent increase. Lankford said Buckland's 2.85 percent share of the Franklin Tech bond, which goes to a member-town vote October 6, would add capital costs on top of existing operating assessments.
The board also approved West County Baseball's request to hold a cornhole tournament at the Cricket Field June 27, which organizer Tucker Jenkins said carries "zero expense to the town of Buckland." Members separately hired Elizabeth Wright as a temporary library assistant and set the fiscal 2026 sewer rate at $0.1055.
