Board Clears Wells Near Landfill of PFAS
Buckland well tests near closed landfill come back clean of PFAS.
Select Board · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Buckland well tests near closed landfill come back clean of PFAS. The Select Board heard Tuesday that samples from five private wells abutting the town's closed transfer station showed no detectable PFAS, after a groundwater sample at the landfill itself had exceeded the level allowed under EPA guidance. Town Administrator Pam told the board the testing cost was "definitely significant," though final invoicing was not yet in hand.
In other business, the board approved a one-day liquor license for Matthew Kaminsky to serve hard cider at the Mill at Raven Books during the town's Cider Days on November 7, and granted a town hall use request tied to Buckland resident Carmela Lanzawiel for a Medical Reserve Corps meeting on September 21 and 22. The board also moved its public forum on the October 6 regional tech school vote to September 17 at 6 p.m. after a scheduling conflict surfaced.
